PETROL PRICE HIKE
Petrol price crossed Rs 82 per litre-mark in the national capital on Sunday (August 30), as the price of the fuel rose across the four metro cities after a day’s pause.
NEW DELHI: The hike in prices comes one day after petrol rates were increased by 30 paise and diesel rates were increased by as much as 45 paise yesterday.
The oil marketing companies increased the prices of petrol and diesel today, November 28, in the four metro cities – Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai.
The increase in petrol and diesel prices was expected as the global oil market had shown signs of firming up after positive news on the successful introduction of a coronavirus vaccine soon.
Oil prices were little changed on Friday, on track for a third consecutive weekly rise.

This is the eighth increase in rates since November 20 when oil companies resumed daily price revision after nearly two-week hiatus.
