Lansdowne is a town and a hill station situated on the Kotdwar – Pauri road at a height of 1,780 m in Uttarakhand, India.
Lansdowne is located in the Pauri district of Uttarakhand, 45 km from Kotdwara. Originally known as Kaludanda after Kalu (Black) and Danda (hills) in Garhwali, Lansdowne was founded and named after then Viceroy of India (1888-1894), Lord Lansdowne in 1887.
Nowadays, the famous Garhwal Rifles of the Indian Army has its command office here. Lansdowne was developed by the British for catering for the Recruits Training centre of the Garhwal Rifles. Lansdowne was a major place of the activities of freedom fighters from British Garhwal during the British period.
Encircled by the dense oak and blue pine forests, Lansdowne appears like an old painting. Located far away from the maddening crowd of the cities, Lansdowne is an ideal retreat for the holidaymakers.

1.BHULLA LAKE OR TAL
Bhullatal, an artificial manmade lake dedicated to the Garhwali youth of The Garhwal Rifles who helped in the construction of the lake, located at just 1 km from the Lansdowne, India.
The reason for its creation was mainly to attract tourists to the city, which has worked in favour of the city. Peaceful and soothing, this is a perfect picnic spot in the midst of flawless beauty.
2.TIP N TOP
Tip N Top, also commonly known as Tiffin Top, is a small hilltop viewpoint that is located at 1700 metres above the sea level and provides visitors with magnificent, breathtaking views.
This famous attraction is located just 1. 5 kilometres away from the main city and is the centre of attraction of the entire region. It provides visitors with splendid panoramic sights not only of the entire city but also of the nearby forested area, and the Garhwal Hills.
3.DARWAN SINGH REGIMENTAL MUSEUM
It is a historical defence museum located near the parade ground in the hill station, named after Victoria Cross holder Darwan Singh Negi.
This beautifully decorated two-storey building has a collection of arms, uniforms, rarest photographs of army generals, certificates and details about the origin and achievements of Garhwal Rifles.
Bhim Pakora can be reached after a 2km trek downhill on a rough path and the place is quite surprising as there are two big stones one above the other in perfect balance and while the stone can be moved with a finger it never falls down.
A historic but surprising place near Lansdowne, Bhim Pakora attracts even through its name.

The town is connected to the rest of the country via National Highway 119.
