Located at a distance of 53 km from Almora, Kausani is a famous village/hill station in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. With a total area of 5.2 square km, Kausani is situated at an altitude of 1890 metres above sea level. Kausani is famous for its scenic splendour and 300km wide panoramic view of the mighty Himalayas.
It is also the birthplace of famous Hindi poet Sumitra Nandan Pant, who wrote some of his memorable poems in praise of this paradise on earth. Though Kausani is not as well known as any of the other hill stations, the area is full of deep and dense pine forests, tea gardens and affords a breathtaking view of the Himalayan peaks of Trishul, Panchchuli and Nanda Devi.

1.RUDRADHARI FALLS AND CAVES
Located at a distance of 12 km from the main town, Rudradhari falls is a natural location with lush green paddy fields where water flows over a vertical drop in the course of a river.
There are many ancient caves which are explored near the waterfall. A trek of about 2.5 km takes you to small isolated but a gushing waterfall.
Lakhmi Asham is a small place in Kausani, maintained for Gandhiji’s history out here as he used to reside here during his days at Kausani. The view of Himalayas from this place is just amazing.
The ashram works for the upliftment of many orphaned and poor girls. Being located amid sprawling greenery of Kausani, Lakshmi ashram is a must visit the place that offers peace and mental bliss.
Anasakti Ashram is a peaceful place in Kausani famous for the stay of Mahatma Gandhi for 2 weeks in 1929.
It is the place where Gandhiji treatise and practised the Anasakti Yoga. There is a small prayer room in this ashram where prayers are held every morning and evening. The ashram offers you peace, serenity, calmness and amazing view of the Himalayas.
4.SUMITRANANDAN PANT GALLERY
Sumitranandan Pant Gallery is the house where famous national poet Sumitranandan Pant brought up.
The poet who was decorated with Padma Bhushan, now his house has been converted into a museum. It is mesmerising to see his life in pictures and one can get a glimpse of what a great person he was.
Baijnath Temple is a cluster of stones located in Kausani. The place is worth visiting. It is one of the most ancient temples of North India.
