CHAKRATA : THE HEAVEN IN UTTARAKHAND

Chakrata is a famous hill station in Dehradun district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The beautiful place is located at an altitude of 7000 feet above sea level.

1.TIGER FALLS

One of the main tourist attraction in Chakrata is the Tiger falls which is located about 25 km from the town. This mesmerising waterfall can be reached by an easy 5km trek. Tiger falls is one of the highest waterfalls in India falling from a height of about 312 ft.

The place is an ideal destination for picnicking and photography. The scattered drops of this majestic waterfall are collected in a small pond making it a gorgeous location for taking a bath.

2.KANASAR ECOLODGE

Located in an apple orchard near Koti village, 25 km drive from Chakrata, Kanasar ecolodge is a family-run eco-tourism initiative. The Eco-lodge has two cottages.

3.KIMONA FALLS

Located at a distance of 2 km from Chakrata, Kimona falls is an untouched and unexplored beauty in. Hardly visited by visitors, Kimona waterfall has a height of 35 meters and surrounded by dense Oak forest.

4.DEOBAN

Situated at a distance of 16kms from Chakrata, Deoban is located in the hilly terrains. It is situated at an altitude of about 2200 to 3025 metres above sea level.

Kalsi is a small village set on the outskirts of Dehradun known for its calm environment and breathtaking Himalayan views. Kalsi is located at a height of 780 metres and forms its boundary at the confluence of River Yamuna and Tons.

The most popular attraction of this village is the Ashokan Rock Edict, a monument that has quite a significance in Indian history. Ashoka, the Great Mauryan King was engraved in this Edict in 253 BC.The place is famous for its ancient architecture, beautiful views, picnic spots, and water streams.

Ram Tal Horticultural Garden is located 9 km from Chakrata on Chakrata-Mussoorie route. It is one of the popular attractions of Chakrata. Garden has a few trees of Apple, Plum and Rhododendron Burans trees. Lake close to the Garden stays dry the vast majority of the year yet worth going to in the blustery season.

7.MOIGAD FALLS


Located about 29 km from Chakrata, Moigad falls is a beautiful natural waterfall. The waterfall is 50 metres high and is surrounded by dense forests. Milky water attracts tourists from all India and provides a refreshing bath.

BEST TIME TO REACH CHAKRATA


Although Chakrata is a great destination to visit almost all year round, January is the best time to go due to its perfect climate conditions.
In summer, temperatures can reach as high as 36℃ (97℉) in the middle of the day. In the colder months such as January, temperatures usually get down to an average minimum of 5℃.
